  2. This is sad, if we allowed kids to defend themselves vs. this zero-tolerance bullshit, we would not have as much of these situations. I was this kid at the age 11 and some days were just unbearable, I'm glad I did not commit suicide, but if we would allow these victims to give these bullies a beatdown, bullying would be reduced.

  4. My school is doing National Day Of Silence in honor of Carl. It's sickening that bullying is this bad. We sent a shirt to Ellen that says in the front National Day of Silence and the back says "Be the change you wish to see in the world" and all of the signatures of the students participating.

  9. I'm sorry, but bullying will never stop. It's human nature. You can't stop kids from being kids. What we have to do is as parents TALK to your kids and make sure they understand that it will stop and they have much more ahead of them. I was bullied, everyone has been. Kids are killing themselves everyday because of being bullied, while kids all over the world are starving, homeless, raped, and abused.. There's something wrong with that! Kids need to be taught to see the big picture, like I was.

  11. I am really speaking only to this young man's humanity. No child, or adult for that matter, should be treated inhumanely through vicious harassment or plain mean spiritedness. The Lord himself stated that we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. If one wants to impact others in a positive way. We must love them and show love as it is able to cover a multitude of sin.

  13. This made me tear up...I can relate to bullying so much...esp when I was 7 and 8...the "mean girls" never ceased to kill me more and more each day...it brought me so much pain that I can't even put into words...yet I'm still here. Fighting each day as it comes. I truly hope with all of my heart and soul that bullying will stop one day... </3

  17. This is so heartbreaking and fustrating.. :(
Carl Joseph was a real nice, good kid who deserved to live on and become a sucessful man.
When people call you "gay" every day constantly, it makes you very mad..Carl wasn't gay. He was simply loving life and the Lord, living day to its fulllest. Just because you are always smiling and laughing, doesn't make you gay. It means you are happy to wake up each day and breath the fresh air outside. Life is a PRIVILIGE.. I wish I could meet Carl .. :(

  21. Everyone is bullied a some point in life. Everyone is a bully at some point in life. Its like a ladder that never ends. Anyone says they have never been a bully is out of touch with reality. Some people are worse than others, I will say that but we can not simply say Stop Bullying. Everyone needs to look at themselves and realize how they can make themselves a better person.

  22. It doesnt matter what this kids sexuality was,he was attacked with anti gay slurs....its hard enough as an adult to take the jabs and slurs, the point is he was bullied to death by a bunch of bullies...and guess what? We are all to blame for this ...everyone that uses the word Fag,or other hate words,or those that turn a blind eye to homophobia , calling a kid fag , absolutley destroyes their sense of self, it makes them feel like they dont belong, and the shame is often too much .
