Wow, thanks for the info. That seems like a lot of work. I guess I wouldn't mind buying a new one (instead of replacing the belt) once the vacuum starts to malfunction. I've had it for about a year now and it works pretty well for a small vacuum.
Found this on amazon: There is a hidden screw under a plastic plug that has to be forcibly removed from the front under side of the 71b, you basically have to destroy the plug to remove it without destroying the plastic frame.no belt should be this hard to change. Will not buy this vacuum again.
