The Biggest Loser's Matt Hoover competing and finishing the Ford Ironman in Hawaii. An inspiration to all. For the haters out there, don't bother posting any negative or otherwise stupid comments. I'm just going to delete them.

  1. you dont even know what your talking about aha im an elite triathlete from new zealand racing in the itu form of the race and there is nothing better than watching some one set a goal and complete it with a smile on there face. if you are really into this sport you would support everyone giving it go no matter what there size is,

  2. To be that size and do it, i know that has got to hurt his hips and calves. A lot of respect for this guy.

  3. Maybe if your 10 hour friends were 9 hour friends they wouldn't have to worry about the rolldown. There's only one finish line, get there.......by any means necessary. People like you make me sick. You should happy for the guy for embracing the challenge. Maybe one day you'll really have to struggle with something in life and have people badger you for mediocrity. I applaud the 17 hour Ironman, because he stays the course.

  4. How can anyone hate on this?

  5. At least the guy finished something that most people will never attempt.

  7. Hey, have you considered the Fat Blast Lifestyle? (look it up on google). My mate insists it helps people feel great easily.

  8. ive been doing a lot of 10ks, just signed up for a marathon

  9. I agree with you to a point. While I'm not against lotteries, I have a feeling Matt and Tara would not have been in Kona without the Biggest Loser backing.

  12. Pretty sure that your 10 hour friends don't feel offended by lotteriers who want to prove to themselves that they can do something. I can guarantee you that NOBODY feels offended by "questionably fit" people competing along side them. I can also guarantee you that if for some reason one of your 10 hour friends had something physically go wrong with them and they fell back into the 16-17 hour pack and they ran into one of these "questionably fit" people struggling, they would cheer them on.

  13. Like any other "championship" you should be made to qualify for Kona. I know several athletes who are at the 10 hr mark who bust their butts for that roll down. I see it as a mockery of all their legit HARD work and training, not to mention sacrifices to their families, friends, jobs when they make Kona and race alongside some questionably-fit people who "thought it would be cool to do an Ironman" and get in via lottery, or because they were on some reality show.

  14. well but still with the ticket you have to prove that you are able to finish the ironman. you have 12month time to prove it,with finishing kona or a halfironman!

    BalasHapus
  15. well, but still WITH the lottery ticket you have to prove with at least an half ironman race that you are able to finish the full distanc? or is my source wrong? i wanna do my own ironman and looking forward how I get a slot, best way: finish south africa iron man very fast.

  16. Nice dude RESPECT, but one question how did you get to the qualification? even with a ticket from the lotterysystem you have to prove with a halfironman or other ironman contest?

    BalasHapus
  17. *sniff* Dammit, who's cutting onions?

    BalasHapus
  18. 17 hours or not...he's still an Ironman to me :)

    BalasHapus
  19. yeah i watched the video too

    BalasHapus
  20. I respect this guy so much, but why is he wearing a aerodynamic speed helmet with a position like that on the bike? It would do nothing

    BalasHapus
  21. You are inspirational. i would train by your side :)
