After-christmas clean up: Vintage Hoover Commercial and Numatic Harry

Well, christmas is over again and it was time to take the tree down. And this was the mess I was left with. I use my Hoover c1310 Heavy Duty Commercial upright to clear the worst of it, then go round the edges with my Numatic Harry HHR200A. Both machines performed great, I really thought the Hoover would start to struggle with the sheer amount of needles going through it but it ploughed straight through. I love the Autosave boost button on the Harry. I will do a full video of Harry shortly

  5. Its amazing tbh how the old vacuums i.e Hoover beats the carpet like hell unlike the new modern vacuums that co.'s make :l

  6. don't theres much difference to be honest. They had a slightly more robust handle and bag and the option of a 4 brush groomer rather than a regular activator. I don't know if the motor or fan was different

  7. Compared to the model these Hoovers were based on, how would you say it performs against the Ranger ? Also, what is the wattage ? The good old 400W ?

I've seen videos on how all the new vacuums with the hose on them are called by-pass because the vacuum comes from one side of the vacuum. Then they compared the royal as a direct flow because the air comes from the center. Well so did the Hoovers. I had a Hoover Decade 80. The suction was so powerful it would pull the carpet off the floor, and it cleaned just as good, maybe even better than the new designs.

  9. yep it did a good job, a very powerful vacuum this one

  10. That old Hoover runs all the air and debris through the impeller doesn't it? That's impressive that it didn't clog.

That's one thing you can say about the Hoover. It really beats the carpet compared to the new machines they make today.

  13. 1995 I think, they ran from about 1985-1995 so this is quite a late one

  14. how old is the hoover.

    BalasHapus
  15. yeh about that :)

  16. have a look on Numatic's website, have a look at Henry then under specifications lol

    BalasHapus
  17. good con what the age 80s?

    BalasHapus
  18. Well I'm not sure about that, as when my 1994 Hoover Turbopower 1000 drops from 1000W to 900W there is a considerable noise reduction, but if the technical specifications say it is at 600W for Lo, I'll take your word for it!

    BalasHapus
  19. well, when you use Lo power, the tone and speed of the motor drops considerably, much more than it would if it was only dropping by 100w ie) 1200-1100. But if you have a look at the technical specs it does say 600/1200. The new James with the small motor is 800/500w with Autosave.

  20. Correction, it actually says 1000W IEC, but if you're sure it is 600W for Lo, then I guess that is probably correct.

    BalasHapus
  21. No as far as I know, that has nothing to do with the variable power control ie) Autosave, its definitely 600w on Lo, 1200w on Hi

    BalasHapus
  22. Well on the ID sticker it says 1100W IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and 1200W MAX, so I assumed the 1100W was the minimum.

    BalasHapus
  23. I thought all the 1200w hi/lo Henrys were 600w Lo 1200w Hi

    BalasHapus
  24. Well the reason it is quieter than any other Henry is because Henrys use 1100W for Lo and 1200W for Hi, so your one has a lower wattage on Lo.

    BalasHapus
  25. its pretty much identical to Henry, same motor 600w low power 1200w hi. Seems much quieter than any other henry ive used
