Maintaining Bagless Vacuum Cleaners

Me showing how to maintain bagless vacuum cleaners. Most bagless vacuums i trash pick have dirty, or clogged filters. It does not matter if its a Dyson, or not. All bagless vacuums need regular maintnance.

  2. Thank you for the interesting tips...I think you just saved me a $100 I was thinking of spending on a new vacuum cleaner as the suction of one I have (exact same model as yours) is really poor. So I am gonna try that and I am sure it'll improve the suction. My question to you is: my vacuum seems to throw off a bit of the dirt it already sucked as I am passing on the carpet/floor. It never used to do that. Would you know the reason for that?

  3. Thanks for the video! Damn...all of your tips were on point! My Bissell Powerforce Bagless Vacuum works again. Every filter was filthy.

  4. But how do you get rid of that "wet dog" stank from the WHOLE vacuum? Picked up a free used vacuum just like the one in the video, and just like in the video, the filter section was jammed on the bottom of the dirt cup. Bissell's solution? BUY a new part! I LOVED his "redneck" method...bang it around a little bit, put the cup between your feet, and twist! It took some doin', but it worked! But even the hoses stink! I may have to use the "yuppie" method for that...just go buy a new vacuum!

  5. i beg to differ, the dyson vacuums are a piece of crap. just about everything is plastic, the dam vacuum costs$500 and up,the power head is freaking huge, the extra attachments cost the same amount of money you would spend for a new vacuum, and the fact that that ass hole james dyson like to sue other vacuum companies just so they think dyson came up with an idea, and the fact that they are way to powerful they pick up more than they are suppose to.

  6. If you have the model with the top filter instead of the bottom cup filter their is a square knob on the back of the cleaner. If you find it turn it, and the top half should come out.

  7. I've got one that's super dirty everywhere. I'd like to take the top part that the top filter fits into off but although I took the screw out it won't come out. It looks like a latch at the back almost but it won't budge. How do you get it out? Thanks!

  8. Thanks so much. I was doing fairy well at maintaining all of the filters but couldnt figure out how to clean the one under the dirt cup. This video was so helpful (and my filter was beyond disgusting!) all cleaned and good to go!
    Thanks for sharing this video!!

  9. people buy uprights because they're a lot easier to maneuver than canisters.

  12. Got the Bissell Powerforce Turbo about 8 months ago. Gotta clean its innards about every 6-8 weeks or it majorly loses suction. I find the maintenance really ridiculous. I'll probably get another "bagged" vac like my old Hoover Encore Supreme that just died (after 15 years of no problems). You take out the bag, throw it away, put in a fresh one (generics were 3 for $1) and good to go. I'm a single guy with no kids and I hate it -- how the hell would busy parents have the time for this?

  19. If you maintain all vacuums most will hold up better than a Bissell.

  20. Whatever. If you maintain them right they will hold up better than other vaccums.
